Would you like to be Ben Shermans Brand Ambassador?

On hearing Ben Sherman was launching a search to find an ambassador for the brand I moseyed on down to their flagship store in Carnaby Street to find out a little bit more about the campaign and the ideas behind it. I was met by Ben Shermans retail marketing manager who kindly talked me through the new collection.

To take part you simply walk into store, pick an outfit to be photographed in, it is uploaded online and entered into the running for brand ambassador. The emphasis is on the individual showing how they adapt Ben Sherman to fit in with their personal style.

The only criteria to enter is to have a love of Ben Sherman and an innate sense of style. On hearing this I thought it would be rude not to give it a go and I struck my best pose in a charming Ben Sherman mod style dress, seen below.

The collection looks strong with some great basic knits and tees and a couple of stand out prints such as the check dress that I was pictured wearing and a satin long sleeve mini dress. The collection harps back to its British heritage with 60's mod an obvious influence in both collection and marketing campaign for autumn winter 2009.

The recent surge in the interest of ‘street chic’ style features was cited as an influence on the format for establishing the brand ambassador’s. People want to know what is going on in their local area, what trends are emerging and how people are wearing them.

Personally I think the way of recruiting for this campaign is a great idea. The participation alone ensures a picture online, attracting fashion savvy youngsters hungry for style exposure and gives them something to ‘tweet’ about at the same time.

So if you would like the chance to attend music events, blog for Ben Sherman and have a fair share of free clothes in the process log on to http://www.benshermanpresents..com/ for information on your nearest participating store.
